Q: Was there ever a moonroof option on a 1970 camaro?
I see two 1970 camaro’s on ebay that say they have original moonroofs but i believe they never had a moonroof option. Help me out here.
T-tops werent offered on the 1970-1973 models. or 74-81 models.

A: no ‘factory’ moon or sun roofs that I know of. But you are right about the t-tops. came out in 82 and they were ‘horrible’. i spent a lot of time repairing water leaks on those #$%@&*!.

Q: 1970 camaro?
hi, i would like to know if there is any way to tell a 305, from a 350, or a 327, from the casting numbers or any of the numbers on an engine block?

A: I own a shop and have built many engines in my time. These numbers will mean nothing to you unless you have books to tell you what they are. I have a set of these books, and you can also get them from summit or jegs. They are called
MSA-1 Small block code guides. Two places to find the numbers and letters on your engine is; on the block (drivers side) just above the bell-housing is some numbers stamped on the block that identify what block it is. On the block in the front passenger side in the front just below the head is a pad. On this pad is some numbers, and some letters. The letters tell what build you have, and everything you need to know. The letters will be example: TDT, TCF, or any combination like that, but it will be to the right of the numbers. The numbers there tells stuff like where it was built, date, plant, and who built the engine. The casting numbers above the bell-housing don’t tell anything except what the block was before it was built such as cubic inch, metal used in block, plant it was cast at etc; Get the letters off the front, and I will look them up for you.
Glad to help out, Good luck!!!

Q: Is their a car that looks like a 1970 Camaro that doesn’t have that much power?
I am getting my first car and my dad doesn’t want me to have a car with as much power as the 1970 Camaro. I want to find a car that has less power (Not a Muscle Car) and not over 7000 that my dad will be cool with.

NOTHING FROM THE 90s!!!!!!

A: Buy a third gen Camaro. You can get an RS (Rally Sport) w/ a V6. Or just go for a Z28 IROC-Z! Any third gen Camaro looks great though.

Q: What are the differences between the 1970-1973 Camaro?
I have a 71 Camaro and I’m not positive if the VIN tag was original and am going to go by details to narrow down the possibilities. What are the differences between the 1970 and 1973 Camaros?
And when I meant differences i didn’t mean be a smart a$$ by saying 3 yrs. difference.

A: The bodies are all the same. There are a few subtle differences in the grills. The 71,72 & 73 years got the high back bucket seats.

There was no difference in the bumpers throughout 70-73. the Camaro had two different bumpers. The RS version had the split bumper and the non-RS had the full length bumper.

Q: what size speakers fit inside an 1970 camaro?
what size speakers fit inside of a 1970 Z28/RS Camaro. Front and Rear. Please give me the link you found it on, or how you know. thank yall for the help.

A: go to crutchfield.com

Q: What size hood for a 1970 Camaro?
I’ve been wanting to get a cowl induction hood for my Camaro but I can’t decide on what size would look best on it. I’ve seen Camaro’s with the 2 inch hoods that look nice but sometimes I think I should go bigger and go with a 3-4 inch. Any suggestions?

A: stick with the 2 inch. the 4 inch is to big and makes it look awkward

Q: How much is a 1970 chevy camaro worth?
okay its a 70 chevy camaro with engine problems, not the original paint, has primer spots in ALOT of places, it has shaved door handles wich i know lowers the value, has no door panels on the inside, does not have the original front seats, does not have the original hood, has no side windows and is missing exterior chrome pieces. How much would u say its worth??? PLEASE ANSWER….

A: damn, all that sounds like is a project car. i hope you’re not buying that as a daily driver. no more than 6 to 7 hundred dollars in current condition. those interior parts are going to cost an arm leg and a small child…and are VERY hard to find. But when theyre 80% restored, the value can easily jump to around 13-14k. If you’re looking to restore this car, then by all means, go for it.

Q: I need a diagram of 1970 camaro fuel tank mounting brackets?

A: you might be able to retrive the info you need from yearone.com

Q: how much does it cost to replace the engine of a 1970 camaro?
for parts and labour

A: tall block $1400.00
time 24 hours @ $80.00 a hour

Q: 1970 Camaro resoration…?
I have a 1970 Camaro in overall good condition with low miles that runs great. I can do everything under the hood, but it could use some body work and a new paint job. How much would this cost to have it repainted with the original factory matching color and get some slight body work done on the fenders and the rear?

A: Get some estimates from some local shops…good quality complete paint jobs usually run around 2500.00 plus body work. Don’t use Maaco or Scheib..very poor quality and no clearcoat. Maybe try to find a good bodyman/painter that does side work.

Q: What are some good headers for a 1970 Camaro?
it has a 350 cid and are its going to be used primarily for street use and maybe a little drag use on the weekends. I dont want them too expensive and they are going to be dumped out inot a set of glasspacks.

A: Do yourself a favor. Pay the extra money for a ceramic coated header. They’re more expensive but they last forever. They also lower under hood temps which saves parts and helps with performance.

Q: 1970 Camaro fender emblems
I have a 1970 Camaro SS and I want to put the engine designation emblem below the SS emblem on the fenders. How far below the SS does this emblem go?

A: 1/4 inch.. z 28’s are on somewhere else

Q: 1970 Camaro proving actual mileage…?
I have a 1970 Camaro in near-mint condition with the original 307 in it that only has around 57,000 actual miles on it. The problem is the odometer is only 5 digits. Is there a way to prove that the odometer hasn’t rolled over and this is the actual mileage? (other than my word and the excellent condition of the engine.)

A: no way to prove it.
