A: Dude these fools don’t know what the hell they’re talking about. The cheapest you’ll find one and in good condition w/o too many miles is $9,000 anything less than that your better off not buying it b/c it has too many problems. Trust me, I am a car fanatic and the 96 impala SS, (I’m assuming that is what your talking about) is one car I know a lot about. But if your thinking of customizing one. The 96 caprice and the 96 impala SS are exactly the same car. They have the same exact body style and mechanics, there is absolutely no difference between the two other than the impala has a leather interior. You can buy everything you need to make the caprice look like the imapala cosmeticly, like new grill and emblems etc. and switch the interior for a whole lot cheaper. you can buy a caprice for anywhere between $1,000 and $3,000 and it’ll be in great condition.

A: The only thing you will really need is a set of exhaust pipes. You will also need peripherals to fit the big block such as brackets to mount the alternator, power steering pump and a/c pump. All the rest will work.

A: Check Engine Light – Tighten the gas cap and restart the vehicle. If it doesn’t go away take it back to the rental company and ask for an exchange.

A: Legally you can’t bypass it. For a little bit more money if you want to go with a straight pipe, you can have the converter replaced.

Q: How to reset oil change message in a Chevy Impala 03 after oil change?
I took my car a Chevy Impala 03 to get the oil changed and the shop that changes the oil always resets the sensor. The shop didn’t reset it this time, so my car keeps giving me the message to change the oil. Does anyone know how I would reset this?

A: turn the key on, without stating the car, press the gas pedal to the floor three times. That should reset it. Works on my 30 truck anyway. Hope this helps.

Q: What years are interchangeable for parts for a ‘66 chevy impala?

A: probably a 65 has a lot of the same parts, also there are a lot of aftermarket parts places out there that you can get parts for your car.

Q: How do I get my 2000 Chevy Impala to start?
My 2000 chevy impala security light came on while I was driving last night. It started today but then won’t start now. This has happened 3 or 4 times before. I think it has something to do with the passlock but don’t know how to fix the problem.

A: You are right, it is a problem with the Passlock system. Odds are you will need to have the lock cylinder and the passlock module replaced. Unfortunately, it’s not what I would call a cheap solution. There are ways you can bypass the Passlock feature, but I’m not going to link to them, because I personally feel that bypassing your car’s built-in security isn’t the best idea and your insruance company, if they find out you disabled a security feature, may not cover if your car is stolen.

Q: Where is the hepa filter accessed on a 2003 Chevy impala?
I am trying to find out where the hepa filter is to check and/or change it if necessary on a 2003 chevy impala.

A: if you have one it s on the passenger side of the cowl. Best thing is to turn wipers on and when they are in the middle of the window turn the key off so they stop . Then you need to pull back the rubber trim on the edge and then move the plastic linesfor the washer fluid. Then you have 3 clips to move. 2 of them are push pins a flathead will get them out the other is a flat head screw. Take all those out and then lift up the plastic cowl and the filter will be right there. If you have the 3100 engine than you might not have on there. From what i have seen the 3400 and 3800 engines have them but most but not all 3100 engines dont have them.

Q: my chevy impala radio is not fm doesnt work, is there a reset button?
I am tryin to get my fm radio to work in my chevy impala. Is there a trouble shooting task that I could do or a reset button?

A: I’d double check the antenna connection to the stereo and also check it’s mount and ground.You could look at the fuse box cover and find the fuse that supplies the stereo the constant 12 volt feed and remove that fuse for awhile then pop it back in the stereo’s clock should of went back to 12 o’clock.Another way is to pop the stereo out and unplug it’s plug in connections and then check the antenna plug , and reconnect the stereo after a few mins then try the stereo , just be sure that the stereo is off when you remove fuses or pull it out or unplug or plug in it’s connectors.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way there should be two fuses that run the stereo one is the constant feed , one is the ignition switchable feed but many times the chart will only mention the stereo once and not list the other fuse.Also if it’s a aftermarket stereo there should be a fuse at the back of the stereo too.

Q: why is the temperature gauge not moving on a 2001 chevy impala?
I have a 2001 chevy impala and the other day I noticed that the temperature gauge wasn’t working. I got a radiator flush and that seemed to fix the problem. Tonight, i noticed that the gauge wasn’t moving again! What could this be? Serious replies only. Thanks to all!
Thanks for everyone answers. But I wanted to add a few more things. Yes, the heat is working. Full blast! The vents are also open.

A: Before you had a coolant flush done to you vehicle, were you driving the car long enough to get the engine up to operating temperature? Is your thermostat opening? Is there heat coming out of the vents? A lot of times after performing a coolant flush, air gets trapped in the system. But because you said this was happening prior to the flush, it could be a faulty temp sensor. Only way to find out is to get it into a shop.
