Q: What size rims did the 1995 honda civic ex come with?
I bought a 1995 honda civic ex with aftermarket rims, and I’m looking for a factory set of rims but don’t know what size they came with.
I have tried 13in but it’s to small, it doesn’t get pass the brake caliper.
A: The ‘95 Civic EX came with 14″ rims and a tire size of 175/65-14 (sedan) or 185/60-14 (coupe).
Q: How to change 1995 Honda Civic Transmission and turn it into stick shift?
Can Anyone please give me detailed instuctions to change a 1995 Honda Civic Transmission, How to turn it into a manual Car! I know Very little about Cars So the more specific the better. Also If anyone knows The Items i will need and the cost of myself doing it verse the cost of taking it in. Please!
A: First off its not worth it to exchange it. Sell your current car and buy a manual trans car. Its very expensive and hard to do. You cant just bolt on a manual transmission. Having a mechanic do it will be even more money.
Q: How can i install lower balljoint on a 1995 honda civic with out a press?
hi i need to change the front lower ball joint on a 1995 honda civic. i dont have the press to put the new one in. is there any other way i can install the lower ball joint with out the press tool.
A: Please take it from me. You need to borrow a ball joint removal tool kit from Auto Zone after you’ve popped the ball joint loose from the lower A-arm. Auto Zone has a tool to pop the ball joint loose. A “pitman” arm removal tool will release the taper of the ball-joint from the A-arm.
Q: 1995 honda civic speedometer and the odometer is dead do i need new cluster?
I have a 1995 civic ex and the speedometer and the odometer does not work at all. Although my RPM/gas/temperature gauge still works. I get a check engine light after i decelerate from around 3000 rpm to 2000 rpm I did a test with the paperclip and got a code of 17(VSS). Could that be the cause or do i need a whole new cluster?
A: Hi there !
That is a very common problem to Honda Civics and Accords!.
I have seen what you are describing many , many times.
The speedometer will not work or be erratic or get stuck!
More than likely the Speedometer has gone bad but the Speed Sensor could also be bad!
When the Speed Sensor is Bad: you will get a Check Engine Light in the Dash.So it sounds like your VSS is bad.
Here is how it works.
The speedometer is run electrically.(i do not mean digital!)
So there is nothing to grease in the Speedometer System as everything is electronic components. That means there is No Cable Running the Speedometer To Break!!
First you need to check for a proper signal from the Speed Sensor. To measure the signal you need to hook and auto meter to the wire and check for AC VOLTAGE. It will be small and goes up and down with the speed of the vehicle. A good square wave on a scope.
If there is no signal then you must replace speed sensor. If not then move on to the Speedometer.
The main Integrated Chip on the speedometers circuit board has probably gone bad. This causes erratic or no operation of the speedometer/odometer.
There is no way to repair the problem. You must get a new or used speedometer ! !
My local pick n pull junkyard will sell me a speedometer for $20.00 for that vehicle in San Jose California.(the dealership wants $280.00 brand new.)
i hope that helps. Good Luck!
Q: What engine can i put in a 1995 Honda Civic?
I have a 1995 Honda Civic Lx with a 1.5 l engine. The 6th number in the vin is 8. I have found a donor vehicle with the 1.5l and the 6th digit in the vin is 2. Will i be able to swap the engines?
A: To answer your question, there are many different honda engines to chose from when doing a swap. B16A, B18C, GS-R B18C, K20, D16Y8, D15B, H22A, ZC and many more. It depends on what engine your want in your civic. Do reserch on honda engines and find the engine that would be in your best interest to do a swap. I would reccomend a B16A swap, because its the most common Honda swap.A swap that should never be forgotten is the “Hydra” swap a D15A1/D15A3 block with a D16A1 sohc vtec head.
Q: What is the blue book value of a 1995 honda civic?
I just purchased a 4 door 1995 Honda Civic and am wondering what the blue book value of it is before I register it.
I live in Saint John, New Brunswick. And I think I paid well under what the blue book value is so I am wondering if I should get is apraised before I go into to register it and pay the taxes on the blue book value
A: the answer depends on where you live and the model of the car as well as the mileage and equipment on the car as prices vary around the country.
two sites that are pretty reliable
kelly blue book
http://www.kbb.com
and
http://www.nada.com
which is the site for the North American Dealers Association which sets the used car values for most car dealers
both will give you estimates of the “blue book” for your region of the country
hope that helps
Q: What is a 1995 Honda Civic Ex 4 door in the JDM world?
I know that the hatches are the EG or EK? However, what would be mine? I have a 1995 Honda Civic Ex four door. I would love to know what type of JDM I own.
A: if your in the US its a EH9, commonly called “EG”.
EG9 its the Japanese Si-R sedan model for the japanese domestic market (also called JDM).
Q: Do I need an install kit for a 1995 Honda Civic when installing a cd payer?
Anyone know what I need in terms of installing a cd player in my 1995 civic hatchback?
A: Not really. You just need your screwdriver to remove the driver’s bottom dashboard panel, the bottom passenger’s dashboard panel, and the center panel. Then remove the old stereo and reconnect the wiring harnesses accordingly to your new cd player.
Your new cd player may come with it’s own metal housing that you slip into the center panel. That’s where your new cd player will slide and lock. You may need a tool that will help you shave or trim the edges if you need more room to get it to fit in.
Good luck!

Q: Does a 1995 Honda Civic LX have a headlight beeper?
I had a 87 accord lx, and when I left my headlights on after turning the car off a chime or beeping noise would play. Does the 1995 honda civic lxs have this feature?
A: Nope, it doesn’t have one. I have ‘94 CX, and left my lights on one too many times, so I made my own. You just go to a store like radioshack and buy what’s called a Piezo buzzer. The one I got from Radioshack has the part number of 273-059, it cost under $4. Then you just hook up the Red wire to the 10A Instrument Lights/Taillights/Parking Lights fuse, and the Black wire to the 20A Wiper/Washer System, Moonroof Relays fuse.
Q: what to get to make a 1995 honda civic faster?
What can i get to modify my 1995 civic to make it go faster?
A: What you can do with your car depends on how much money you are willing to spend. The three basics that most people will tell you to upgrade is your exhaust header, getting a cold air intake, and get a better free flowing muffler. Without changing all three parts, the air flow will be restricted.
If money is no object, consider buying a turbo or twin turbo (two smaller sized turbos working in concert) and upgrade to racing tires. If you’re not worried about passing smog, you can swap your engine block to a more powerful engine (type R/Si VTEC). Since lighter cars tend to accelerate faster than heavier cars, you can also replace certain parts of your car with carbon fiber parts, like your hood/trunk/doors. And if you plan to use your car exclusively for racing (and if your car is a hatchback or coupe) you can remove the back seats to reduce your overall weight.
Q: Moving to snowy area w/ 1995 Honda Civic DX. Is this a good idea? What should I be equipped with?
I am moving to South Lake Tahoe and have the option of bringing my 1995 Honda Civic DX. Is it possible to suit it up with snow tires and be able to drive around? This place get on average over 400″ of snow. Can anyone give any tips or suggestions?
Thank you!
A: snow tires are a good ideal, however, you will need a set of snow chains, tool’s , a window scraper , and don’t forget to ALWAYS keep food in the car in case your stuck. I grew up in West Virgina and don’t know much about Tahoe so I don’t know if this will help. If it were me I’d go to yahoo and look up Tahoe or maybe find someone who lives there in yahoo chat for more info. Good Luck
