Q: Mazda 5 ?
I have 5 kids so i need 7 seat’s and i was looking at the masda 5 me and my wife both really like it- any suggestions we dont really need room in boot on journeys as we have a roof box and we always take our caravan so tht doesnt matter but is the masda 5 good?

A: I have a 2004 Mazda 3 – almost paid for and no problems!

Q: What are the differences between Mazda 5 USA and Europe?
Hi! I would like to buy a Mazda 5 in USA, and also maybe my company will transfer me to Spain to work there. I have heard that you have to modify some stuff in the cars to adapt them from the laws in USA to the laws in Europe. I have seen that the USA and Europe cars look pretty similar outside but I wonder if there are more differences that I should know. Thanks in advance.

Q: What do you think of the Mazda 5 minivan?
My husband is in love with the Mazda 5 minivan and feels this will be our next vehicle. We will probably wait until next year and get a used ‘08. If you own one, what do you like/dislike about it? Have you experienced any problems or issues? For some reason I just can’t get excited about it, but maybe that’s because I was thinking of other vehicles.
Thanks!

A: its just a mazda 3 stretched out thats all

Q: What is a Fair Price to pay for a used Mazda 5 ?
Hi I looking to purchase a Mazda 5 GS 2006 with 62,000KM automatic. The dealer is asking for $14,000. Canadian Black Book has it valued from $9275 – $10,750
What is a fair price to pay for this vehicle?

A: Here is a tactic I like using. Write down a deal that YOU believe is fair.
ie.

-Selling Price
-Any Wants/Needs You have
-Etc etc.

On a sticky note (or better yet, maybe a business portfolio). Take it when you go, and be firm on it. Assuming your terms were fair, they will consider. Remember, a good businessman is ALWAYS prepared to walk.

I recently bought a used 2004 bmw and did this. My first note said

-$13,500

-No warranty (they were trying to sell one of those aftermarket ones that I told them I didn’t want — I am a do it yourself type of guy own garage etc.)

- See car on lift (to look underneath)

- Test drive again

I thought my terms were fair. They said no at first, so I walked. Simple as that. Sure enough, they called me back a few days later.

Also remember, that you are buying at the end of the year and dealers are looking for VOLUME over profit so you are at a MAJOR advantage right now. You can get stellar deals. When the calendar year rolls around, bam they lose value so the ball (and money) are in your court. Make sure they understand that you are in control and have the power, the money – and the options.

Q: Where is the fuel filter on a 2007 Mazda 5?
I think my fuel filter is bad- can someone help me locate the fuel filter on a 2007 Mazda 5?

A: Fuel filters are located in different places. Check on the fire wall and along the frame rail on the drivers side near the rear wheel. If it’s not either of those places, it’s probably part of the fuel pump.

Q: I just wanna know what the ideal size of winter tire for my mazda protege 5 is!?
I have a 2002 mazda 5 and I want winter tires.
I have 16 inch rims with low profiles… what would people recommend for my car.

A: You definitely want to go narrower than your stock size as this get through the snow and down to the pavement easier.

Also, you can, if possible, drop down to a 15″ wheel as well…providing the smaller wheel clears the brake calipers. Most folk just use steel rims for winter use and mount the winter tires on those. It makes for easier change-over in Fall and Spring.

You don’t state your actual tire size, but the downsizing would look like this. If you had 205/55-R16 I would go to 195/65-R15 as an example. If 15’s don’t fit, the 195/60-R16.

Q: Will a packed Ikea Tolga bed fit in a Mazda 5?
A packed Ikea Tolga bed (whose package measures 78 7/8″ x 10″ x 3 1/8″) fit in either a Mazda 5?

It doesn’t seem as if width or height is a problem, so I guess this is a question if the front passenger seat and the back seats can be folded down completely.

A: tie it too the bumper and drag it

Q: My 2006 Mazda 5 has trouble shifting from Park to Drive?
My Mazda 5 will not shift out of Park to drive. I have to restart the car, then press verrrry hard on the brake when I restart then it releases. Otherwise, it will just stay in Park, not neutral, drive, reverse, anything. It has 75,000 miles on it so its past warranty. I have to get it fixed but I don’t want to get ripped off right before Xmas.

A: Brake pedal sensor is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.

Q: How much for a mazda mx-5 front left wheel bearing?
Where is the cheapest place i can get a mazda mx-5 front left wheel bearing from, the car is a 05 plate. I need to know where and how much it will cost thank you

A: It’s not just buying the bearing because you then need someone with a press to actually press the old one out and the new one in. Actually by the time you need to replace them you can usually just beat the old one out with a hammer yourself.

So if you buy one from rockauto.com or whatever, you either need to buy the bearing and then get it pressed in at pep boys (usually $30) or buy the entire hub assembly. If you have ABS, buying the hub assembly is spendy because of the ABS sensor. If you can find a hub without the included sensor, you’re going to do much better.

Q: how many cubic feet are in the new mazda 5 car?
how many cubic feet are in the new mazda 5 car.
everywhere except the engine area, meaning the boot and all the room inside the cabin

A: If you’ve got cubic feet, you’ll walk funny.

Just look on the Mazda website, for crying out loud.

Q: how many tomatoes can you fit into a new mazda 5 car?
i am entering a quiz and the question is how many tomatoes can you fit into a new mazda 5 car, excluding the engine part.if you could work out how much space is in the new mazda 5 then you could work it out matimaticaly by measuring the size of a tomato.
to steve who emailed me an answer, you made a mistake its a mazda 5 and not a mazda3

A: The cargo volume with the rear seats down is 43.8 cubic feet. Assume the front seats add another 25 cubic feet for a total of
68.8 cubic feet of space for tomatoes.

A tomato could be about 3 inches in diameter and so takes up 4/3 pi r^3 of space, or ~14.2 cubic inches or 0.00818 cubic feet.

Figure that the packing fraction of spheres is about 60% in the best case, and you get:
68.8/0.00818*0.60 = 5045 tomatoes!!!!

Q: How much would you pay for a Mazda 5 2006 that has 54,000 km?
I am just curious as I might be buying it. I don’t want to say right away how much the person is offering it for. It’s a dealership not a private sale. If you know about cars and about Mazda’s please let me know. So far the price seems good but I will add the price later once I see what you experts think.

A: $0, on the basis, that there isn’t NEARLY enough information to make that judgement.

All you’ve stated is year, and how far it’s driven. That doesn’t tell anyone a damn thing about it’s condition, options, or anything else that would be remotely useful.

My “expert” opinion, would be to do hours of research on the car, checking the maintenance records, vehicle history, have a mechanic go through it, get a quote from my insurance company, and test drive it at least twice.

After all that, I would make my own decision, rather than go online and ask others for their opinion, because it’s my money, not theirs. And being an adult, I can figure out how to spend my money, on my own.

But that’s just my expert opinion.

Q: How Much Would it cost to insure a mazda mx-5?
ive got this mazda mx-5 its going to be my first car how much will i have to pay to have it insured?

A: No way of saying for sure, rates vary not only by car, but by state, city and even sometimes by the very street you live on. Also there is the car age and coverage carried.
Contact your families insurance agent for an exact quote. But the insurance will most likely be lower then for other fun cars to drive.

Q: I am looking at buying a new car. I have looked at the Mazda 5 and the Pontiac Vibe. What do you think?
One factor might be distance. I live about 4 miles from a Pontiac dealer and about an hour drive away from a Mazda dealer. The cars seem to be about the same price when all is said and done. The Pontiac gets better gas mileage, but the Mazda is bigger.

A: Go Vibe, its a Toyota, and it has a timing chain. No belt to pay hundreds of dollars to get changed.

Q: What is the best battery for a 2007 Mazda 5?
I would like to know what battery’s are good and which ones i should avoid.

A: Consumer’s Report did a study on car batteries and came up with a surprisingly affordable result: Walmart batteries (not to be confused with Sam’s Club batteries). You can Google the keywords to get the abstract. This is a good example that a higher price does not always mean a better product.
